The challenge was to design an exhibition for
MODA that is true to their mission and vision
which “is to advance the understanding and
appreciation of design as the convergence of
creativity and functionality through exhibitions,
education, and programming for visitors of all ages.”
Backstory.
Our professor came into our class with hat full of pieces of paper with random words on them. Each student had to pick one piece without looking. And what did I pick? The word “balls.”
The main challenge was to find something that was related to the word “balls” and create an exhibition that matched MODA’s vision and mission statement of bringing the community together with design.
Soccer is a sport that has built communities, careers, and childhood. It is a part of several cultures around the world and has helped change the world into a better place. And hence, KICKOFF is a hypothetical Museum Exhibition design for the Museum of Design Atlanta (MODA.) It showcases the history of the World Cup Innovation by showing the progression of design of soccer balls.
